How we got here

the origin

Marcus Hale started GridWave FlowShift in the spring of 2019 after seven years running operations for a mid-size logistics company in Bristol. The job was fine. The processes were not. Eventually he thought: there has to be a better way to do this, and also, I would like to be the one who figures it out.

Marcus Hale
Founder

Marcus Hale spent seven years in operations management at a Bristol-based logistics firm before founding GridWave FlowShift in 2019. He has a background in systems thinking and spent two years before that as a project coordinator at a small Edinburgh architecture practice, which is where he first became obsessed with the gap between how processes are supposed to work and how they actually do. He reads a lot of organisational theory, owns too many notebooks, and has a habit of drawing process maps on napkins at dinner. He lives in Edinburgh with a dog named Biscuit who has no opinions on workflow design.
